What To Do This SG60 National Day Long Weekend

What To Do This SG60 National Day Long Weekend

There’s no better time to explore the vibrant streets of Singapore than during the National Day Parade (NDP) long weekend. With SG60 just around the corner, the city buzzes with patriotic energy, dazzling fireworks, and a contagious sense of pride.

Whether you're a local looking for a mini getaway or a tourist soaking in the festivities, here’s a guide to making the most of the NDP long weekend.

1. Catch the National Day Parade Screening

One of the highlights of the season is, of course, the National Day Parade, a captivating showcase of military pageantry, heartfelt performances, and a breathtaking fireworks finale. If you think the crowd-heavy viewing spots can be overwhelming, there’s a more relaxed way to catch the action!

Head to Gully Restaurant & Garden located at Holiday Inn Singapore Little India, grab a seat, and watch the live screening in our Gully Garden. What’s more, every weekend in August from 12 PM to 4 PM, enjoy Gully’s National Day Ala Carte Buffet Brunch for just $48++ per person, or sip on our specially curated SG60 drink at our bar.

2. Rediscover Singapore’s Iconic Attractions

Celebrate SG60 by diving back. The long weekend is a great excuse to slow down and revisit some of Singapore’s most famous attractions, many of which are decorated with festive lights and installations for the occasion. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you're a seasoned local, there’s no better time to fall in love with Singapore all over again.

Marina Bay & Gardens by the Bay:

Catch the Supertree Grove light show, stroll along the waterfront promenade, and enjoy the sweeping skyline views from the Marina Barrage. Hot tip: It’s a prime spot to view the National Day fireworks without squeezing into the parade grounds!

Sentosa Island:

You can’t come to Singapore and miss Sentosa! Ride the iconic cable car, discover the history of Fort Siloso, or enjoy the sun on its stunning beaches for that extra Vitamin D. And this NDP, treat your eyes to spectacular light displays and installations celebrating SG60!

Little India:

Step back in time at Little India, one of Singapore’s most colourful and culturally rich neighbourhoods. Stroll past Tekka Centre, get a henna tattoo, or shop for trinkets and spices along Serangoon Road. Don’t forget to snap photos at the vibrant Tan Teng Niah House, one of the last remaining Chinese villas in the city. For the art lovers, the Indian Heritage Centre brings you back in time, giving you a glimpse of the Indian community in Singapore. Plus, admission is free on National Day!

3. Join In the Fun at NDP Activator Zones

This year, National Day goes beyond The Padang with NDP Activators taking place across Singapore. These satellite festivities bring the SG60 spirit into the heartlands, allowing more communities to join the celebration. Look forward to lively carnivals featuring games, snacks, and live performances, with community booths and heritage zones showcasing the local culture. Don’t miss the dazzling fireworks displays and captivating drone shows to round off the evening celebrations.

Keep an eye out for the activator zones in Punggol, Bishan, Yishun, Geylang, and Bukit Gombak. These events will be held on 10 August across the 5 heartland sites!

4. Turn Your Long Weekend Into A Staycation

Turn the long NDP weekend into a well-deserved mini getaway vacation away from home, but still at home! Check in to Holiday Inn Singapore Little India and enjoy a restful city escape.
